Anotations Fonts - Making changes "stick"

I've spent a lot of time and energy creating custom sheet formats and templates for my company. I started with an existing format that used Century Gothic as the standard font and I've tried over and over and over to change it to Arial (my company standard) but I can't get it to stick.

I've read in other posts that you make the change, save the sheet format and then save the file (to be deleted later) and I've tried that but it doesn't work. No matter how I do it, every single stinking time I open the slddrt (sheet format) file the anotations font is reset to century gothic.

Does someone have a fix? I can't find a damn thing in SW's help section about this issue.

After you 'save sheet format', do 'save as/drawing template'. Don't deleted either when finished. Save both in same folder.

Don't ask me why Solidworks does this, but there are sheet templates, and sheet formats. Just to make sure we are on the same page, you can either change the property fonts on the sheet, or globally change the font: Tools > Options > Document Properties > Detailing: Annotation font. Here you can change fonts for notes, dimensions, etc.

After making things the way you like them, do both:

File > Save Sheet Format,

AND

File > Save As > drawing template. This should fix the problem.

Ok so you're saying I need to have a seperate template for each sheet format? The way SW prompts you to insert your sheet format when you open a template (and the fact that you see all the sheet formats available) I assumed I would only need 1 base template I could use to insert whichever sheet format suited...???

Setup all of your settings for your drawing (tool/options/doc prop), then 'save sheet format', then save as 'dwg template' (.drwdot).
You will have to do this for each dwg size.

Ok so I did exactly as you said Chris, I changed all anotation fonts as Arial, saved sheet format, saved as drawing template, but I opened the sheet format (slddrt) file, and it still has century gothic as the font file...

Thanks, it seems to have worked. I guess I won't worry about the sheet format as long as when I go to create the drawing the text doesn't revert.

Appreciate the help.

You may need the sheet format if you create a second page of a drawing.
