In Customer Defaults>Drafting>View:
I unchecked "Centerlines" to prevent the automatic creation of centerlines when I make a new view. I have logged off several times, but the automatic centerlines continue to be created with every new view, even though the function is still un-checked in Cust Def.
Everything else I have done in Cust Def has worked fine.
TIA to anyone who can help.

This is a 'Part Specific' setting which means that changing it will only apply to any NEW drawing files being created. If you're using drawing template files this will have no effect on them. You'll have to open those files and make the changes using Drafting View Preferences and then resave the files before it will take effect.

John,

Didn't there used to be a check box or something that could be unchecked to prevent new views from creating the Auto Centerlines when you were placing the views?

If there is such an option then creating views more slowly and looking at the available options might be a way to prevent the centerlines that you don't want.

Michael is correct about the toggle that existed in prior versions. It enabled the user to select/deselect automatic centerlines "on the fly". That toggle no longer exists. Apparently replaced with the Preferences toggle that John refers to. Personally, I liked the old version better.
Thanks to both of you for your input.
