Another Winter Construction Question

Hello, first-time poster but I've been reading posts for 2 years now.

i've got a job where the high has been below freezing for two weeks with lows getting down to near zero.

The contractor/owner/client has poured some interior footings (3x3x12")on 8" of crushed washed stone on ground that may have frozen underneath it. (He backfilled 20" with crushed washed gravel for the reast of the SOG area to Top of ftg/bottom of slab)

He wants to pour his SOG soon and asked me if I thought he would be able to if he enclosed the area and heated it for a week. I told him it might work but the only way to know would be to dig a hole. Basically, I don't know enough about this since I'm from the South and up in Vermont now.
Does anyone know a good link, thread, or want to comment?

A steel rod driven into the sub-grade can make a hole to insert a thermometer. Five minutes to stabilize temps and then read the thermometer, easier than digging and three locations can be checked for a good average. The week might be excessive if lots of heaters and good enclosure used.
