Hi, i'm actually working on the analysis of a two pole synchronous generator using ANSYS Mechanical/APDL. There is neither symmetry nor periodic conditions.
In my model, the stator is slotless. I want to replace the slots by an infinitesimal conducting sheet at the inner surface of the stator (it could the inner line of the stator model). i simulated the no load case well. For the load case, i want to impose a linear current density whose expression is :
J = Jm * cos(theta_s)
where : Jm = linear current density (A/m)
theta_s = stator angle (0<= theta_s =< 360°)
I want to impose that linear current density on the infinitesimal conducting sheet. I created a function of the current density with the rigth expression in cylindrical coordinate system (in which Y is the angle). when i applied the linear current density on the inner nodes of the stator by the "current segment" load it doesnt work. the same thing with a current density applied on the inner line : the flux plot is the identical to the no-load case. i have no error after the solution but its like if the load of current on the infinitesimal conducting sheet has no effect.
Do you people have an idea of how to apply a position depending linear current load and how to apply that load to an infinitesimal surface ?
Thank you
