I want to model beam with simple load on center of beam. I am using BEAM 188 element.

The beam is suspended on two cables(tension only).

For my cables, I am using LINK 180 element.

How to connect LINK 180 elements and BEAM 188 element in Mechanical APDL so I don't get:

A large pivot value error.

What is the procedure, is there some tutorial.

The pivot error message likely means your model is not constrained well in either rotation or translation degrees of freedom. The message following the output error may provide you a hint on where to look. For example: "e.g., at the ROTX degree of freedom of node 4". I'm betting your BEAM188 elements are doing some unexpected somersaults.

Good luck,

It's a Link 180 element that is going nuts :p

What if I put number of divisions on LINK 180 elements that are my cables to 1 ?
