Does anyone have any experience with anti-lag turbo systems and superchargers/turbo hybrid systems? I was wondering which system is heavier and what other disadvantages each has. Do the disadvantages of such a system out weigh the advantages (little to no turbo lag/break in boost)?

Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

I saw a system from Garrett that was a "hydraulic assist" turbocharger. It was a pelton wheel type gizmo that was attached to the turbo center section, and was spun-up using hydraulic pressure. I believe it actually made it into production on a (Hino ?) diesel truck turbo. The Garrett engineer's name was Kobayashi.

There was also another guy I know of, named Dave Kapich, that was developing a similar concept.
