anti rust but should be able to act as ground

We have an enclosure for electronics and painted through except for mating surfaces. The mating surfaces are not painted since act as grounding. The mating surfaces are starting to rust.

Is there anyway to avoid the rust and still maintain the same as ground surface.

The Surroundng surfaces are painted. Only the mating surfaces are not painted so that they can act as ground surfaces. I need to know that how the mating surface can be used as ground while preventing the rust.

I understand that ... your post was very clear.
I was suggesting that you apply a rust inhibitor after making the connection to the unpainted Ground surfaces of the painted enclosure. In other words seal over the connection with paint or grease or silicon.

Brush electroplate the mating surfaces. It's pretty easy to nickel plate (& you can buy kits on eBay). Probably tin plating would be better for long-term, as nickel gets a bit passive with time. For application info, equipment & chemicals:
