any body is having any alternative method of sand blasting works in structural steels.

If you are concerned about the waste sand and disposal of contaminants from the sandblasting, you might consider using "dry ice" as the medium instead of sand. This will achieve similar results and your waste is only the paint flakes and rust particles...the dry ice will dissipate.

please explore the methodolgy of dry ice sand blasting works. if possible give the rate analysis of per Mt.

We are using started using hydro blasting (w/ blast media), to reduce the dust generation and waste disposal.

Please briefly elaborate on the hydro blasting (w/ blast media), by which you had reduced the dust generation and waste disposal, for our use.
 
Water is used to remove many different coatings from many different substances. No sand is used and therefore it is a dust free process that is much cleaner than alternative methods. Pressures range from 10,000 – 40,000 psi while gallons per minute vary from 6 – 60. From removing paint from a thin skinned aircraft to removing 6” of concrete from a bridge to expose the rebar to cutting up fuel tanks. You can cut concrete at 17,000 psi. Water volumes generally range from 4 to 20 gpm. We have added garnet or aluminium oxide in the lower pressure range application to improve the surface profile.

Some typical methods for high pressure blasting include:
1. Hard and Soft Water Lancing: These are small diameter hoses or tubing with spray nozzles attached. They are used to clean small diameter orifices such as heat exchangers, bundles, and small pipes.
2. Shotgun Blasting: Shotguns are hand held and operated spray nozzle used for general cleaning, de-coating, structural cleaning, and tough concrete cleaning jobs.
3. Water Jetting: Water jetting uses larger diameter hoses and spray nozzles. The nozzles are self-propelled by aiming more of the water pressure backward and less forward
4. Abrasive Cutting: Abrasive cutting uses very high pressure water and an abrasive to cut through steel and concrete (including rebar). It is the slowest and most expensive method of cutting. It value is that it is spark free and can be used where flammable conditions exist.


Waterblasting was more expensive than sand blasting but, can save time and cleanup efforts.

 
I have used soda stripping, which is effective in cleaning surfaces and paint removal. Check through the yellow pages. The process uses a industrial grade baking soda with high pressured air. The only draw back is that it will leave soda dust that has to be swept up.
