Sales of used software are not popular by the software companies, normally they want to sell the software "as new".
The real problem is the license which is locked to a specific server.
The license is not impossible to crack but be aware that Siemens is tracing illegal copies and will knock on the door when they find one.
License transfer from server to server within the company can be done ( by Siemens) , it has a administrative cost, but not company to company.
Hi, @Toost Thanks for the reply. Yes Im aware that individual licenses are diffucult to transfer hence that I asked the question as I didnt know if this would be a real option.
Ive also seen that somebody was able to buy a company (usually own by an individual) that had a license so the licence was effectively transferred to the new owning company but I dont know if this is a common practice.
Id be fine with anything newer than NX10 and I wont need updates or support. That's why I thought I had a chance to reach out to someone who was retiring or ceasing activity but I might be wrong.
Anyway, thank you for the info, it is very helpful.
