I need to learn more about municipal wastewater collection systems/pump station design and rehab. I'm an engineer tech getting ready to graduate. I want to enter this field. I passed my FE and I need to arm myself with more specific knowledge of the subject before I start interviewing. I have a million questions I'm not going to bother anyone with if I can find this information on my own. My university library has a very poor and outdated collection that only served to irritate me because advancing technology and EPA regs have changed things quite a bit.
Does anyone out there have some suggestions on where I can get more info -like specific ASCE and AWWA publications or some solid texts on the subjects? I need from bare-bones (pictures and descriptions of system components...like types of valves, fittings,) all the way up to hydraulic analysis (modeling etc).
The more current the info the better but since gravity and math haven't changed in the past 20 years, I'm sure there are some older books out there that are still valid.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the help.
