Dear all,
I have just started working with oil-free screw compressors. There are some terms in API 619 datasheet which I am not familiar with and do not know their meaning.
Is there any tutorial, user guide, etc. which explains the terms of this standard datasheet?
Many thanks.

Thanks PackElend, but not all terms are defined in the standard.
Maybe I need to first study more about the screw compessors.
Is there any tutorial which introduces the inner pieces of these compressors in details, and/or explains the functions of their seal and lube sysyems?
Many thanks

It's been a while since I've looked at the datasheet from a newbie's perspective, but I believe there should be some data sheets filled out (examples) in the appendix of API 619.

Did you already look there? I work for a company that sells OFS units. If you have specific questions on what is asked, I can probably direct you.

Thank you so much awhicker84. I have some questions and would appreciate it if you could direct me.
First, what are the criteria to select among the shaft seals introduced in section 5.6 (Labyrinth, carbon rings, etc.)? How can we select the right seal type?

API isn't designed to help the user decide which equipment to use or not use. API is a set of standards that describe how best to design something once that something has been chosen.
