API 650 - NDE for Butt Welded floor plates 1

Dear All,

My understanding of the API 650 code is that Radiography is only required for the Annular Plate Joints ( if the tank has annulars ).

For Butt welded floor plates I believe the NDE criteria is the same for that of lap welded floor plates e.g A Vacuum Box Test and Visual Examination.

Is this correct or is there any additional NDE requirements for butt welded floor plates that I have missed?

If an annular plate is required but you are butt welding the entire bottom, you must NDE the butt welds for the annular distance specified in 5.5.2. Otherwise, there are no additional NDE requirements.
