i AM NOT CLEAR ABOUT THE SPECIAL PARAGRAPHS OF API 684 LIKE SP------

WHAT IS THEIR SIGNIFICANCE THEY ARE GIVEN RIGHT AT THE END AND ALSO IN BETWEEN ARE THEY INDICATING THE MORE CRITICAL ASPECTS OF API 684 REALLY WHAT ARE THEY? OR WHAT ARE THEY NOT?

It stands for API standard paragraph (SP)
API 684 is a tutorial to the SPs which are given "as is" in an appendix within the same API 684.

"If you want to acquire a knowledge or skill, read a book and practice the skill".

It looks like that Standard Paragraphs (SP) API 684 is a rotordynamic tutorial for does not exist as a standalone document.
Relevant to rotordynamics sections of SP are copied into subsections 5.5 and 5.6 of API 684. That's all.
I was able to find on API website (

only a working document (see the attachment) of SP (REVISION 25 dated Sept 25, 2008).
It seems to be rather strange that API 684 gives tutorials to the non-existing document.
Does anybody have a clearer view on the subject?
