I have two produced water streams (2500 and 8500 gpm) containing oil which has been previously de-aerated to remove oxygen.

The water is reused in the process after passing through the oil separator and to avoid having to de-aerate the streams again I was looking for a manufacturer of API oil interceptors with experience in nitrogen blankets.

My intent would be to use the nitrogen blanket to prevent oxygen transfer back into the water.

Any suggestions for possible Vendors or pros/cons experience would be appreciated.

caneng2002:

Rule 1176 of the Southern California Air Quality Mangement District (SCAQMD) requires all API separators and Dissolved air flotation (DAF) units to be covered. Once such units are covered, an inert gas blanket is needed to avoid avoid any formation of flammable mixtures being formed from hydrocarbon vapors and air accumulation under the cover.

I believe that if you contacted them, they would be able to direct you to some vendors. They can be contacted at
