Hi All,

Having issues with my appearances in Solidworks. Metal, Plastic, and Rubber appearances are showing up as black. The attached image is a new file (default part template) set to high gloss blue plastic with a standard scene no modifications whatsoever.

Appearances such as cloth and concretes and car paint show up fine.

I've updated my drivers (Quadro 4600), and repaired my install. Anybody ran into this?

Thanks

I guess that's a no-no?

My (hopefully humorous) comment was aimed at your response to Dans question re the 'approved' driver, because this has been discussed here many, many times.

There's actually nothing wrong with using a driver from the nVidia site but usually the latest and greatest from their site have not been approved by SolidWorks.

It's usually best/safest to start with the approved driver listed at If that driver gives problems, then trying the latest from nVidia is the next best bet. Sometimes you may even need to revert to an archived/older driver than that listed at the SW site.

nVidia often has Beta drivers listed, but they should only be used as a last resort. Having said that, I used a Beta version once with great success.

I know I violated the first rule of search before you post. I always appreciate the candid responses.

I'll roll back my driver and see what happens.

Cheerss
