Application of Bernaulli Equation for Hydrotest 1

During Hydrotest we have a source pressure that builds up pressure in vessel
How is the bernaulli equation applicable

say P 1 + 1/2 rho v1^2 + rho g h1 = P2 + 1/2 rho v2^2 + rho g h2

say h1 = h2 and the velocity in vessel of the fluid i.e. v2 = 0

then, P1 + 1/2 rho v1^2 = P2 ?? Is that correct that pressure + velocity head of water from source converts to pressure in the vessel?

In my experience, hydrotests are static events. I.e. v1 and v2 = 0. Others may have different experience.

When the test gets dynamic, you want to be far away - or behind a concrete wall.
 
I think that the Bernoulli equation is not applicable to the situation you have described.[ ] If my (very distant) memory serves me correctly, Bernoulli applies only to flow that does not have any external energy being added to it (or withdrawn from it).[ ] Your "source pressure that builds up pressure in vessel" sounds to me like it violates that requirement.
 
I can vaguely remember having to calculate the volumetric increase in pressure of tge vessel as well as the volumetric shrinkage of the water to estimate the amount of water to add to an already full vessel to do a hydrotest up to a certain pressure.

It was a practical we did with a flanged pipe with blanks on and strain gauges on and everything.

Bernoulli equation didnt feature at all.
