Apply customer default settings to existing part

I would like to apply my updated customer default settings to existing template parts. Using NX 7.5.4, how is this done?

From what I read, the defaults that apply to the part have to be manually added. Only preferences > sketch preferences > part settings has a button "inherit from customer defaults". I was hoping there was an automated way to apply all part preferences from customer defaults.

I am talking part preferences here, not drafting standards or session preferences.
