Hello,
I'm trying to apply BC for a model which is a metal sphere, surrounded by a medium (plastic-based) with certain permittivity. There is a system of electrodes, placed far from the sphere, generating specific electric field.

Obvious BC on the surface of the sphere is that the tangential component of electric field intensity is equal to zero, Etan=0 (or constant potential of the surface, which is unknown).

The questions are:
1. Is it possible to apply directly such BC's in ANSYS?
2. If, for the initial approximation, I'll take some value, does iteration process exist in ANSYS?

PS. Sphere is free-mounted into medium, i.e. doesn't have any physical links outside of environment.

Thanks,
S.

Hi Slava,

if you want to apply a constant potential at the surface without define a specific value, you could use CP command, wich couple dof.

Hope it's help
