Applying PhotoWorks materials

I would like to be able to apply multiple materials to a part but the only option I can get applies 1 material to either the entire part or if there are multiple solid bodies I can apply materials to the solid bodies.

Is it possible to apply multiple materials to a part (either to a face or a feature)?

Is there an easy way to force an exitsing model to contain multiple solid bodies? This would allow me to apply multiple materials.

I discovered how to apply dfferent materials to faces.
