Hello,

I am trying to revise our EDC (engineering document control) and was wondering if there is a way to securely insure the following in the titleblock (within autocad of course):

1) Only the Configuration Manager can enter the rev. #
2) Only x can enter x in the approved box... etc.
3) When completed (1) and (2) cannot just be copied to another job and mistakenly have approvals etc. where there should not be any.

Regards,

TULUM

A few things that come to mind are..

-Create hidden attributes that individuals can only edit programmatically.
-Use a PDM to contol documents.
-Use DWF to distribute documents and retain "signatures" that are only importable by DWG user.
-Timestamp alterations and record their time (retain dwg file with that exact time).
-I believe Autodesk is working on digital signatures for dwg files.

A few that come to mind, we use a PDM by the way.
