I have been involved with several projects recently which involved MV Arc Resistant Switchgear. Each of these projects involved the installation of an AF exhaust plenum to exhaust the gas from the switchgear to the outside (usually through an exterior wall). The installation/routing of the plenum always seems to be a challenge involving the avoidance of interferences, supporting, knocking through exterior wall, etc...
I know that a lot of manufacturers also provide options for exhausting out the top of the switchgear into the room itself given certain ceiling clearances, etc... This obviously seems easer from an installation standpoint but to me could have far worse effects should a fault occur and gas/particles are exhausted inside the room vs outside.
I'm curious to hear anyone's thoughts on interior vs exterior exhaust on these Arc Resistant lineups.
