Are there alternatives to the Spline Tool for smooth curves?

The Spline Tool in CATIA is very cumbersome for me to create curves. In the past I used Maya to draw artist impressions of any design and it had a far easier system to control NURBS curves, as shown in this screenshot

Is there a similar tool in CATIA that also defines NURBS curves using a polyline of weight points, rather than control points?

The Smooth Curve tool doesn't solve my problem, I was actually looking for an alternative way to define a curve because the curve tool from the GSD workbench is very cumbersome for me.

Thanks for pointing me to the smooth tool though, it's useful on itself.

I eventually found out that the curve tool from the Automotive Class A workbench works exactly the way I like, but it can't create closed curves and it's not really an issue.

Hello ComputerAidedDAVE
Try the 3dCurve from the FreeStyle Module. It is very usefull. I use it very offen and it can be handled exactly like you showed in your picture. Instead of THROUGH POINTS select CONTROL POINTS from the CREATION TYPE combo box in the top of the appearing window. Take care about the working plan. The plan (XY, XZ, YZ) you want to draw on must be active (select MAKE PRIVILEG PLANE MOST VISIBLE from the right click menu of the compass) or you can simply pick points (not point objects, just pick) on a surface.
I hope this tool will help you.

This is great, the FreeStyle Module's curve tool behaves the way I prefer. Thanks a lot
