Is their a go by calculation that demonstrates the determination of lateral surchared from a Cooper E80 load and how it reduces in magnitude with depth. I believe the surcharge is determined by taking the axle load of 80kips and dividing by the product of tie length and axle spacing. However how does it reduce with depth? Trying to figure out how to apply the code to an abutment wall, no embankment at front of wall. Drilled shaft retaining walls at abutments. Thank you in advance. I'm a picture guy...fyi...so illustrations are easier to understand.
