Armoured cable vs PVC cable

what is the difference in the application of PVC/PVC/SWA/PVC and PVC/PVC cable. Can we use them in replacement of each other. can PVC/PVC cable of appropriate si current carrying capacity with laying in GI pipes be used for 40 hp motor

This is almost entirely a function of local codes. If you tell us where you are, maybe someone can help you.
 
You can replace PCV/SWA/PWC with PVC/PVC. The diffierence is in the mechanical sheilding and the ability to conduct earth faults up the SWA. Generally SWA is for mechnical protection but is sometimes used for flameproof requirments.
 
Yup also it shields cable from outside influences and is (or at least any shielded cable) if you are connecting motor over freq. inverter.
 
Of course the cable manufacturers have no vested interest in promoting the heavily shielded cable developed for drive applications, have they...?
