Array component using hole feature

Hi, I've made some searches and it seems I can't find a definite answer.

My concern is I have an unequally spaced bolt pattern on a circular diameter. Using the instance function isn't much of a time saver so I used 2 sketches and two hole functions. The reason I have two functions is I need two different bolt length in this assembly. I thought that I could use array in multiple add from "add component" but the function seems to be unable to recognize the hole function as an "array".

So finally my question, is there a way to use the hole function (that is based on many sketch points) to add multiple component without constraining them all 1 by 1?

Thanks
Alex

What version of NX are you running? Also, have you looked at the 'Fastener Assembly' function, which does NOT depend on having the holes be created as a Pattern/Array?

Hi,
I'm using NX 7.5.5.4 and I've just had a look at Fastener assembly function. Can I use this function with my own company fasteners (aerospace bolts and nuts)? I've looked in the NX on context help and it would seem it can only use reusable component... We have a teamcenter with part families but I don't know if that's what fastener assembly is looking for.

Thanks

I found this but I can't use our part family as reuse library parts.

The fastener assembly function seemed promising but I can't set that up on my own according to this thread. So I guess I'm kind of screwed for this assembly and I'll have to ad them one by one!

All right, for those in my situation, there is a way to clock a single instance in a pattern by double-clicking the feature in the assembly tree.
So, this may be a valuable solution when only a few instances need to be clocked and you still need them in a part of an array to keep a fast multiple add component.

If you go into the GTAC download site, where you got the Machinery Library files, you'll find a file titled 'Standard_Parts_Creation_Best_Practices_v1.1.zip' that if you download and unzip it, you'll find some documenta and exmaple files which will help you to incorporate your own Part Families into the Reuse Library. Anyway, give it a look.
