As per B31.3 Impact test acceptance criteria, what should be minimum absorbed energy for Duplex SS , it’s given there only lateral expansion values. What about energy min energy to be absorbed?

There is no requirement as indicated in the document. Toughness is measured in this manner for these materials.

Test labs will still report absorbed energy if requested.

There is no requirement for energy values only lateral expansion. how ever I have had clients (one any way) that only would accept energy absorbed, there acceptance was 45J single and 50J average. This was for S31803 duplex.

A lot of users ( I certainly am) are now overlaying ISO 17781. QL II can be considered as a bit lenient. Quality duplex should have no problem hitting QL I
