ASCE41-17: What are m-factors? 1

Section 7.4.1.3.1 asks you to calculate the seismic base shear using factors C1C2.

C1C2 can be found in table 7-3, but this table requires the value of m_max.
M_max by definition of the code is the largest m-factor for all primary elements of the building in the direction under consideration.
But, ASCE7-41 does not elaborate any further.

How do you calculate the m-factor? What is the m-factor?
 

mfactor ; Component demand modification factor to account for expected ductility.
Pls look Chapters 8 through 12 and 14 for m-factors.

Pls Notice that Alternate Values for Modification Factors C1C2 at Table 7-3 are not sensitive if Fundamental Period T > 0.3 sec.
