Hello,
This is my first time here, I just registered today. I am hoping to visit here everyday to help all I can.
Code Case 2450 regarding using base metal UNS S38815 for pressure vessels in service up to 800 degrees F states:
" Base metal UNS S38815 may be used in construction, the rules of Section VIII, Division 1, Part UHA apply except the exemptions of UHA-51 (d) do not apply."
I have to weld this base material to its self and to P8/1 304L base metal using unclassified matching filler metal. I have qualified GTAW procedures with Tensile, bends, and Impacts of the weld metal, HAZ, and base metal. Per this Code case does all base material of UNS S38815 need to be impact tested at the mill no matter the MDMT to be used for pressure vessel construction. I am thinking yes after reading everything. Just want some of you guys input and knowledge on the subject.
Thanks for the help in advance.
