Good day,

I was interested on taking a course with ASME to learn how to design and validate a pipe line. But I wonder which ASME standard applies for the application of piping that I will design.

I will validate stainless steel pipe lines that conduct air at pressures around 300psig and temperatures around 1200F. I was thinking about ASME B31.1 or B31.3, but they look too similar to me. which one applies for my application?

Also, If you can recommend to me what course to take, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

P.P.

Pipelines at 1200F? No
Pipelines are B31.4 or B31.8 (and B31.12 if I’m not mistaken).
Piping is (a.o.) B31.1 and B31.3.

Contact ANRIC in Toronto. I took a 2-day course with an instructor who sits on ASME committees and it was very worthwhile.

Thanks for the responses,

XL83NL, what do you mean with (a.o.)??
