We are going for a new Div-2 certification for our new fabrication facility. One of the paragraph from the "Guide for ASME Review Teams" States that "Certification of the design documents by an engineer meeting the criteria as defined in section VIII div-2 would also need to be demonstrated". Does this statement makes it mandatory that the "UDS and Manufacturer Design Report need to be in actual be certified from "RPE"(Registered professional engineer) or just a procedure of how we will certify the design documents is sufficient.

Attached is the article with the paragraph that I would like to discuss marked distinctly.

ting123,
Your A.I. should be able to provide guidance on this. In our case we had a completed User Design Specification and calculations stamped by an RPE.

Hi,

We recently gone through an ASME renewal audit. We got our UDS and Calculations approved by RPE.

But still its not clear that its mandatory to get RPE approval or the list of RPE's in company letter head will also can do for new certifications.

According to weldtek he is correct - Your AI should be able to provide guidance on this.
