Can any one please advice how to calculate number of thermal cycle for below case.(5.5.2.3 of ASME Secv 8 div-2)

Temperature will be varying from 60 deg.C (adsorption) to 280 Deg.C (regeneration) and vessel will be subjected to 1 cycle/day.- Total Life-30 years.

You need to calculate the instantaneous temperature difference within a distance of 2.5 sqrt (r * t) in the meridional direction, as described in the Code. Choosing the full delta T from the cycle will be excessively conservative. However, with an absorption and regeneration phase, you are likely describing a mole seive or equivalent. In that case, skip the screening and get on with the full fatigue analysis.

Btw - for complicated thermal situations such as this, I will typically do a transient thermal FEA.

hi TGS4,

what is mole seive??
can you please share any book or sample calculation for similar case.

Mole sieve is a type of dehydrator with a medium that needs regeneration.

Look at the literature (ASME PVP Conference would be a good place to start).
