Hi all,
Is there a guideline or instruction about the S, U and U2 nameplates dimensions (overall, characters, etc). As far as I understood, the Code only requires 8mm high lettersa. Also, the data should be stamped or pre-written, and stamp only the U-symbol?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Nameplates do not require 8mm high characters.

yes, pre-stamp everything except code stamp symbol.

thank you vesselfab,
I suppose that the main dimensions of the nameplate are custom and not prescribed somewhere... I am asking because I am at the demo vessel stage of the certification...

so another new fabricator emerges.

For a new certification audit, I would just draw a picture of your proposed name plate. Be sure that it has all the markings and stampings that are required by code.

Your AI, in your jurisdiction, will tell you what your aditors will be looking for.

You are paying good money for an AI and his expertise.

Use him.

You are right, vesselfab, you are completely right, but certain obstacles (mostly personal and health issues), do not let me do my preparation normally, but remotely to my assistants from a hospital...
Anyway, I understand your point, as well as I understand that there is no standard size for an ASME nameplate. And yes, another new fabricator certified by ASME emerges... in Europe...
Thank you very much for your replies.
