Hi,
Do we need to have any ASME certification to perform design work/calculations/consultancy for an OEM who manufactures component for nuclear industry ?

Please guide me.

I don't think you need a certificate from ASME, but you need to maintain qualifications per Section III, Division 1, Appendix XXIII and non-mandatory guide C. Depending on jurisdiction, you may need a certificate of authorization for engineering consulting work.

As I understand this industry (it has been a few years..)

It is the work that is certified, not the designers.

Some clients and the USNRC (and codes) require PE certification for selected plans, drawings and specifications.

I have never heard of a "Certified Nuclear Designer"....

Can you enlighten us ? Who provides this certification ?

what about a tel call to accreditation at the ASME, to be sure...
