ASME PCC-2 Part 4 eq. 15

Hi Guys,

Does anybody know what equation 15 is used for in ASME PCC-2 part 4. The equation is just below the equation for a through wall defect, but nowhere in the code does it reference equation 15. Any help will on what the equation is for and how it can be used will be much appreciated.

I wonder if there's been an editting problem? I'm not familiar with Part 4 so I will keep my comment very simple.

In my 2015 copy, Eq 15 is unreferenced, as you note. I googled the 2011 edition and Eq 15 has a paragraph to itself. However the whole clause 3.4.6 is slightly different so I'd suggest you try reading the 2011, and see if that helps you understand the current edition.

If you conclude the Code has lost some important text along the way you should send a comment to the Code committee.
