Is their a need for a New ASME PRESSURE VESSEL DRAFTING MANUAL - MECHANICAL may be avilable by December 2007.

I would say yes - so long as its reasonably priced.
It would help the new up and coming engineers and draughtspeople and probably us old crusty ones too.

lsthill, yes it could be useful. Even though many companies use their own drawing "standards", if it addresses such issues as drawing content it could be helpful.

What I find most difficult is checking the things that aren't there.

How about some more info? I second roca on pricing.

Air Cooled Heat Exchangers Vendor's Outline & General Arrangement Drawings. Air Cooler Check list Fabrication, Erection and Compnent Parts Drawing. Double Pipe & Manufacturer's Standards Items.

lsthill, at the companies I have worked for, these "checklists" and so forth are not well formalized, or maybe even written down. Such things would be helpful. Also helpful when moving from one class of work to another.
