I will be qualifying the Corrosion-Resistant Overlay on base metal A106 Grade B, with dimensions of 8"x8.18mm and a length of 150mm. The cladding will be performed using TIG ERNiCrMo-3 with internal 02 layers (around 5mm).

To comply with table QW-453, I need to determine the range of thickness for both the base metal and the cladding overlay. Specifically, I am seeking information on:

1) The acceptable range of thickness for the base metal.
2) The acceptable range of thickness for the cladding overlay.

Recommended for you

1. The qualified base metal thickness would be 8.18 mm to unlimited. [assuming the 8.18 mm dimension in your question is the thickness of the plate).
2. The qualified cladding thickness would be 5 mm minimum (assuming the actual cladding thickness in coupon is 5 mm). There is no upper limit for qualified cladding thickness.
