Dear All,

Please help me to sort out below observation

i have a wps/pqr for A 106 GR B without impact test.
Welding Process : GTAW+ FCAW
GTAW : ER 70S6

Is that possible to use the same wps to weld ASTM A 333 Gr. 6 material & kindly check the above electrodes comply to weld A 333 gr 6.

Yes, but it will not give you the lower temp of A333 Gr.6.

Actual job grade is ASTM A 333 GR 6. ONLY...

I just wanted to know whether i can use the above mentioned WPS.
& the electrodes mentioned above can be used in ASTM A 333 GR 6.

Sure. My point is that A333 Gr. 6 is low temp pipe which is impact tested to -50F. You can't expect the filler metals to meet this without testing.
If you don't want impacts, then yes, this procedure is good. Both materials A-106B and A-333 are P1 materials.

Sir,

Noted. Tank you for the support.

David's point is that once you weld it with that filler you will not have Gr. 6 any longer.

It depends on the MDMT of the pipe system and the applicable Code.
