Appendix 7 is for use with steel castings requiring a 100% quality factor.

If the requirements within Appendix 7 are to be used with other materials and for other reasons, that needs to be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser, before manufacturing begins.

Lets say , If client leave it up to the inpection team to decide acceptance creteria thn , can steel casting acceptance creteria be applied to bronze casting sleeve ?

Here is the attachment of bronze sleeve aftr LP .. I need to respond to client about its acceptance/ rejection.. If i refer appendix seven then client may question me that appendix seven is for steel casting not for bronze casting ?
How should I reject the test with proper justification refering to code ?

1. Is there an ASME specification this casting is being made to? (for example, SB-61)

2. Why did you perform PT? Was this type of inspection in the contract?

Yes. I would question the application of Appendix 7 if I were the client.

Again, I'm curious why you performed PT. Typically, if PT is performed, the agreement is with the client and purchaser, along with the acceptance criteria.

Yes ASME specification SB-61.
Visually pore were there so we decided to perform PT and as such there was no client instruction for PT.

Yes I did..
But can you please help me interpret UG-24(a) 1 through 5 more easily for my understanding with repect to cast bronze sleeve ?

This is what I expected.

I suggest you contact your client, and review SB-61, 3.1 and 3.1.4. Also review with your client SB-824 Section 9. Inform your client of what you have found visually.

I would not suggest you to use UG-24 unless you meet all of UG-24 (2), and (2)(a) through (d)
