ASME VIII - SA 414 - SA 1008 - UG-10 1

We are producing Pressure Vessels with dimpled plates,
have recieved U-stamp, and will produce acc. to ASME VIII-div. 1 - but cannot find materials (plates or coils).
We need.:
1) Hot Rolled SA 414 Gr. C (4 mm) width = 2000 mm , lenght 4200 mm, oiled and pickled.
2) Cold Rolled SA 1008 / ASTM A1008 CS Type B (1.5 mm) width = 2000 mm , lenght 4200 mm
We use for the EU-market:Corus 240 (4 mm) ,DC01 Am/EN (1.5)
We will try to use UG-10, but AI told us it is not a easy task - have anyone tried Recertification and have some practical hints ?

Yes. However, my only suggestion is to work directly with the mill, not a service center, that is supplying the material because of the vigorous requirements for certification, and meet with them to review the required items. Carefully, review items 1) and 2) under UG-10. Your AI is correct, it is difficult but it can be done.

414 is a kind of specialized sheet, call "Califoria Steel",
(CSI)
if you purchase at least 10,000 Lbs they will listen to you.
when you obtain the sheets, you will need to comply not only with 414 but to the process specification as well.

But Califonia steel have a pickling line with max width 62" = 1574 mm - we need minimum 1850 mmm (72").

THEN YOU HAVE TO BUY THE METAL AS IS AND PICKLE SOMEWHERE ELSE, at a pikling company
(I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO THAT BUT IT MAY WORK FOR YOU)IT WILL PAY TO LOOK AT THE STANDARDS (ASTM STDS, NOT 414)
