Does Y14.100 address balloon formats? I'm having an argument with my QA department about formats. We split our balloons - the top is the item number, the bottom is the quantity. QA doesn't seem to understand this or that they need proof that this format is standard. Can anyone confirm whether this is the appropriate format for a split balloon per Y14.100? I plan on getting a copy of the spec, but this is something that needs to be cleared up before we get it. Any help is much appreciated!

No, Y14-100-2000 makes no mention of ballon ID callouts for details in an assmebly drawing.

Thus, you can use the bottom for quantity if you company standard states you can.
