Hi,

We are looking at moving our server to the cloud and was wondering if the Folders we have set up within Assembly Load Options will remain intact.
The intent is to keep the names of the drives the same, but will this affect the search paths?
ie does the search path in actual fact include the server name? Or is it just a dumb list that can be pointed at anything that retains the same file structure?

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Your IT department should be able to create a remapping on the server for the new pathnames (if neccesary)

Thanks for the info NutAce,
The server names will be different when the move happens, will this affect the search paths?

Your IT department can arrange for this on the DNS. It just needs a remapping to the new server names.
Each path that is called (pointing to old name) will be redirected by the DNS server to the new server.

There is a system variable UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS which you can set such that NX reads a load options file that you can adjust for your users.
i.e, if you in the local Windows variables set this UGII_LOAD_OPTIONS = \\server\directory\load_options.def ( any name and extension but it must be a text file)
Then if all users are reading the same load options file, you can change the directories when you like.
but make sure that only you have the write access, else soon some colleague will change the settings .

Tomas
