Hi!
Some 100 plus components (same components) have been placed in a circular array. The assembly is turning out to be very memory intensive. Is there a way to lighten the assembly without affecting the Bill of Material ?

Thanks !
Vivek

First, make sure that you're using Lightweight Representations. These 100 Components, are they positioned using an actual 'Array'? BTW, what version of NX are you running? Also, if it's not necessary that the components be fully detailed, you could create an alternative simplified model inside the master part model, then define an alternative Reference Set containing that simplified model and use THAT Reference Set instead of the fully detailed one. This will have no effect whatsoever on the Parts List (BOM). Could you provide at least a picture of one of these Components so that we can see how complex the model is which might help with planning an approach?

Its 8.5 version.
I placed one component and made component array around default axis.

How do i create simplified version of the individual components inside them? Actually the components are subassemblies. I unfortunately cannot put a screen shot.

Yesterday I turned everything on the Reference Sets to EMPTY except for the first component. So the 3D assembly got lighter. But I could not generate the drawing, it got memory intensive again.
