Hi all,
I was adding a hole to one of the components in my assembly. After I checked the check mark to accept the hole the assembly disappeared. I tried fit to screen, scrolling with the mouse in and out and nothing. I then closed the file and reopened it and it opened weird. Components are on top of another. Pieces are transparent, other components are missing. I have never seen anything like this before. Anyone know how to fit this? Did I hit a key that did this?

I really hope someone can help me.

Mark

Which version & SP of SW?
What video card & driver?

Are configs or display states involved?
Were you adding the hole while editing a part in the assy, or adding a hole at the assy level?

Cor,
I'm using sw2011 sp 0.0.
ATI mobility Radeon HD 5870 driver version - 8.850.0.0
At the time I had my lap top hooked up to Asus monitor but right now I have SW running off the lap top alone and same thing.
When this happened I was editing a part in an assembly.
I have been using SW 2011 for almost a year now, used 2010 and 2009 and never have seen anything like this.

If you've been using a Radeon for a year without problems, you've been lucky.
Radeons are not approved for SW use so you will not find a recommended driver at their site. You could try installing the latest driver from ATI.

AFAIK, the problem you describe is not typical of the Radeon card, but many strange things can & do happen when gaming cards (Radeons and GeForce) are used for SW.

I copied everything to my usb drive and tried to open the assembly on another computer with sw2011 and same thing. This computer has a NVIDIA geforce GTS 250 driver 8.15.11.5893. It looks to be a combination between solids and wire frame and jumbled up. When I open each component from the assembly, they look fine on there own. I am looking at 3 to 4 hour to put everything back together again, so I hope someone can help me.

Thanks,

Mark

Can you ZIP the assy & parts and post here for testing on systems with approved cards?

I have had this problem with parts for a few years now. I have to right click on the a feature in the feature tree and click the glasses icon to view body and it comes back. I wondering if there is something similar in the assembly
