Although I assigned section to Orphan mesh according to sets of Orphan mesh, I took errors of without any material assignment to this part. Even the section assignments are shown in part tree of the related orphan mesh. What might be the reason of it?

Each element of that orphan mesh must have section assigned. Maybe you missed some small elements. Select whole part for section assignement or view all applied sections using Color Code toolbar. Another option is to convert this orphan mesh to geometry and then assign sections (if possible in this case). It will be much easier.

I have this error: UNDERLYING ELEMENT XXX INSTANCE XXX CAN NOT HAVE SPOS AS A FACE IDENTIFIER.
I am assigning materials by creating sets. When I look the orphan mesh by selecting material from color code toolbar, all meshes have a proper color. However, when I try to submit the job, I am taking a warning: 'following parts have some elements without any sections assigned'
I did this orphan in Hypermesh in order to obtain hexahedron (C3D8R) elements for amorph shaped part. I can convert my orphan mesh to geometry but I couldn't mesh it again by obtaining hexahedron (C3D8R) elements.

How can I deal with such a case?

SPOS means positive side of shell element. Make sure that there are no inverted elements and that you didn't accidental choose edges when trying to select faces. Also check the content of these sets used for material assignement. They should only contain proper elements of the same type (so that you don't assign shell section to solid element for example).

Actually the elements are hexahedron and sections assigned are solid and homogeneous. However, I am trying to split the orphan mesh by sets in order to assign different materials to different sets. As you indicated, the problem might be about selections of the orphan elements to create sets. Does it make any difference that clicking side of hexahedron elements during formation of sets?

With solid elements it shouldn't be a problem but when you select elements for sets (later used for section assignement) make sure that you select proper type of entity (elements, not surfaces or edges). Selection toolbar can help you with that.

I am checking my selections again. What do you mean with a selection toolbar, please? I am not a professional on Abaqus.

Look at the top part of the Abaqus/CAE window. There are several movable toolbars for various purposes. Selection toolbar looks like a folded list with white arrow on the left. Check manual if you’re not sure how to find it.

You mean that the combo box near the color palette sign (includes parts, sections, materials, sets etc.). When I select and see the sets and materials, there is no colorless element.

No, that one is used to color models according to the differences between them (for example each instances has it’s own color). Search for that white arrow and you should find this toolbar. Maybe you have to activate it in the options.

Oh, ok. Now I understood what you mean. I will use it while I am checking the model again, thanks.
