Hello,
I requrie some assistance determining whether a BLDC motor is suitiable for my application.
I am working on developing a device which requries a motor to turn a belt driven grinding wheel. The motor will see varying torque depending on the load on the grinding wheel. I am wonding if the motor can be controlled such that torque output never exceeds 12 in-lbs, thus eliminating the need for a clutch. The motor should also be varible speed as it will be controled using a trigger switch similar to a drill. The grinding bit should never exceed 4000 rpm.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to whether a BLDC motor and driver could work for this application? Also, if you know of any good vendors to start looking for motors and drivers.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jason
