Dear Engineers,

Please I need your help on how to resolve issues I am having with the output of a rectangular vessel (Water Setteling Tank) using Pvelite. The design parameters are as follows

length = 3030mm, width = 2760mm, height = 1790, design pressure = 1.246 bara, design temperature, 80 degree C, service is water.

I used pvelite codecal rectangular vessel to design it, also, I used vessel type A4 and selected a section for my reinforcement, and used equal angle iron of 150 x 150
Please I am having an issue with resolving the BENDING STRESS SUMMARY AND TOTAL STRESS SUMMARY, and I would appreciate any solution on how to resolve these challenges from anyone.

attached is an image snap and PDF file of the input and the output report.

regards,
Maximillian Ebuka.

First of all, Bara is absolut which means that your actual internal design pressure is 0.246 barg, which is bar gauge, the pressure that you would see on a pressure gauge. Unless you mean it gauge, so please make up your mind.
Second of all care to explain why the external pressure is around 10 barg?
A 1.25 barg design pressure for a rectangular tank this big is very high. I wouldn't worry about this result, that is not entirely an error, just use thinner plates and much bigger reinforcements, say UPN 300 as a first iteration.
Plus Stainless steel profiles?? are you kidding...
This is gonna cost alot.......
If i were you i would propaply think about a vertical cylindrical vessel with 2 torisph or 2 ellip ends.
Regards,

Detailing is a hobby,
