Associative Line in an Assembly

Trying to draw a line that is associative to a component so that when I move the component, the line goes along with it. I'm working in NX 2206.

Specifically, I'm trying to draw a tube 9sweep) along lines in an assembly made up of components. I draw a straight line inside and aligned with fittings, then a bridge curve between those two lines. I have no problem creating this, but would like the straight lines to move along with the fitting component when/if I move that component.

I've tried different line creation ways, and always have "associative" box checked - no luck.

Thanks!

Adding a sketch to an assembly is possible if that helps anything.
You probably need to either PROMOTE or WAVE LINK the components for the line to stick to it.

Or at least create some Wave-linked Points or Edges (Curves) that can be referenced in the Sketch. You shouldn't Wave-link anymore geometry then absolutely necessary and then keep it simple, like Points and Curves instead of Bodies and Surfaces.

The secret of life is not finding someone to live with
It's finding someone you can't live without

If... ( Do not tell Siemens about this, then we might loose the functionality...)
-If you can live with a linear spline instead of a line, ( a spline degree 1 is linear and except the equation ~identical to a line.)
a "studio spline" ( not sketch) is associative to snap points on components.
You have to enable "Entire assembly" when creating that spline and possibly also the corresponding snap type.

In the test I did , it produced a cylindrical face, which is what a tube created from a true line would produce.
