Hello!

I'd know:

1- Why the ASTM A 182 doesn't show hardness values for the most of the stainless steel forgings?

2- What is the hardness value for the A 182 F 316 RTJ flange?

3- Assuming a 160 HB hardness for RTJ what is the standard flange hardness?

Thanks

Hardness is not required for the austenitic grades because they are required to be solution treated before use by this material specification. Also, the austenitic stainless steel grades do not harden by heat treatment, so hardness is not necessary to evaluate.
