Hello to everyone, greetings from Italy!
I found this website looking on the internet for an info and so far i find it awesome.
I was looking for info about the yield strength of the ASTM a516 Gr. 70. On the internet i found that the YS shown is about 38ksi (260MPa by ASTM A516/A516M-17 standard]) and it is compared to the european S355GH YS=51ksi (355MPa by EN10028-2 standard) but both have a close tensile strength.
That's quite a difference!
Now, i looked for the stress-strain curve of the above mentioned material, ad i find that the YS of the a516 seems to be much higher of 38ksi? (couldn't find exact measures though, but the graph shows the 200MPa mark way below the YS of the test).
I am looking for this info because I am in the design of a welded joint connection between a I section profile and a little pressure vessel built with this material.
If you could help me telling me were to find this info and also were to find info about welding regarding pressure vessels I would be very thankful.
Have an excellent day!
