ASTM A53 structural pipes larger than 26in

Hello all,

I would like to know if it is possible to purchase structural pipes larger than 26in as per ASTM A53 Gr.B, and if it possible, how does the pipe cover all the A53 requirements?
Indeed the scope of the standard specification says: "[it] covers seamless and welded black and hot-dipped galvanized steel pipes NPS 1/8 to NPS 26". I understand that oher dimensions can be provided, but it seems that it applies only to thickness, not diamter.
Moreover the test pressure (Talbe X2.2) does not cover pipes larger than NPS 26.

So is it really possible to purchase such pipe?

Easiest would be to write a supplier or stockist with this question and see if they come up with a quote that meets your demands.
By the way, what is a structural pipe? Do you mean to use A53-B pipe for structural purposes?

If you're planning to buy several miles of pipeline, you can pretty much get what you need.
For lesser quantities, you need to contact the suppliers and see what they stock and have readily available.
Pipe of similar quality to A53 should be readily available in larger sizes, just in other ASTM grades.
Also inquire on structual tubing (A500, for example).
There may be differences in wall tolerances, testing, etc.

" It shall be permissible to furnish pipe having other dimensions provided that such pipe complies with all other requirements of this specification."
Yes, you can and certify A53 any size that you wish, but it still must meet all of the requirements.
There are no exception that can be taken in ASTM specs.

Note that you are writing (asking the question) about using specially-sized "pipe" (round hollow steel things) in a Pressure Vessel forum while crossing structural and pressure piping material and dimensional specifications in your questions.

Be very, very careful how you proceed, and how you are using each "round hollow steel thing" of similar sizes.

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
